I'm not sure what the culprit was trying to create with the wood and plastic, but my guess is, it's a hunter's seat.

This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

What is that in the background in the second picture? More piles?
Yes, but they are row piles that seem to lead up to an outcrop quarry. I question their antiquity, but they still don't deserve to be taken apart. It's a confusing site, but a fun find because it was easy to see the piles above knee deep ferns. I hope to post more next week.
