Portraits

This is me, Peter Waksman
Other people get pictured occasionally so I hope it is not too vain to show myself once in a while too. If you are willing to send in a photo, please do, and I'll post it.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you and tell you how much I appreciate this blog, and all the work and effort you put into posting it. We are close to the same age, and this has been a passion of mine for some 40 years.

There is so much out there still to be discovered. That is one of the few benefits of the old, repressive, local historians and archaeologists, who have remained so stubborn in so many of their backwards ideas for so many years.

I am drawn to areas with obvious natural power and beauty, just as the ancient exploiters of these sites were. I love to seek out chambers, and have always wanted to find an "undiscovered" one. Or, better yet,an entire complex such as Calendar Bowl, or Mystery Hill.

I live in south NH now, and there is so much to explore in the Monadnock region, and around Joe English, and the more I think about all the places I have explored, just everywhere I have been just about in ME, VT, NH, and of course MA. I was amazed by the richness of sites in the N. Andover area, and the earthworks.

It is so nice to be able to read your posts, and look at the pictures and to know that these ideas are or are going to finally get the serious attention and recognition they deserve. And you are playing a very big part in that. I honor, and admire you for that.

Thanks again, and I look forward to reading more from you and your friends. You have made it possible to explore without even leaving the house and being consumed by the mosquitoes and black flies that are the scourge upon all of us rock huggers. See you in the woods!
