Researching Renewal Ceremonies of CA Indians, especially the Algonquian speakers in Northern CA, the possible builders of the stone rows, I found reference to following certain trails (along stone rows?)to certain sites was an important idea. I have seen places where it does seem as if the walls were like directions, leading to certain sites. I sometimes suspected that the walls themselves were meant to be walked on.
